Youtube help

Say, techie genius types, My boss Eric Garris has himself one a them bad ass digital recorder jammers for his TV. He wants me to tell him how to get the signal to his computer so he can youtube stuff from his dvr. The only way I know is to get a video card with a cable input and then get a program and play the whole thing and record it into the computer with one a them programs from download.com, but he says there's all kinda plugs out of the dvr and so I'm wondering if there's a way to just...

Richard Stallman on Copyrights

This talk was delivered recently at the University of Waterloo. It is entitled "Copyright vs Community in the Age of Computer Networks". I haven't heard the talk yet, but from the "Abstract" text, I would probably go much further than Stallman would. I don't concede that copyright (or patent, or any "Intellectual Property") was ever necessary, and always represents a state-granted monopoly over ideas, enforced by State violence. Anyway, check out Stallman's talk if you're starved for media...

Ron Paul only Republican to vote with antiwar “Out of Iraq” caucus

House Caucus to Bush: No More Funding for War Meanwhile in the House the anti-war Out of Iraq caucus has announced it will no longer vote for any war funding unless the money is spent exclusively on withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq. In a letter delivered to President Bush on Thursday, seventy Congressmembers write: ‘We agree with a clear and growing majority of the American people who are opposed to continued, open-ended U.S. military operations in Iraq, and believe it is unwise and...

Wayne Allyn Root on the Liberated Space

Root is not afraid of taking hard questions. He is wrong on the war but no wimp.  Be polite and to the point.  I will start taking questions at a quarter till.  See Steve C.'s post for the link.  I'm at work and no damn time to screw around.  Update: This interview illuminates the differences between modal libertarians*and Rothbardian Anarchism without ever mentioning a word about theory.  And, yes, Wayne, we are that far apart.  Peace. Go listen to the Kubby/Smith debate from last week while...

A “Saker interview” with Israeli author and speaker Joel Bainerman

I have recently published a very interesting article by the Toronto-born Israeli author and speaker Joel Bainerman entitled "One State Solution is Best". Having posted his article I decided to contact Joel for some follow-up questions which he kindly agreed to answer.  The result was rather interesting as Joel clearly assumed that I was part of some undefined "you guys" who are intereted in "scoring propaganda points" or that I had never set foot in Israel (I have, of course).  Please check...

From http://opinionjournal.com/editorial/feature.html?id=110010344 Libertarians and the War Ron Paul doesn't speak for all of us. BY RANDY E. BARNETT Tuesday, July 17, 2007 12:01 a.m. EDT While the number of Americans who self-identify as "libertarian" remains small, a substantial proportion agree with the core stances of limited constitutional government in both the economic and social spheres--what is sometimes called "economic conservatism" and "social liberalism." But if they watched the...
