I hate to be such a Canadian here, but the team that plays a mere 10 minutes away from the building where I work in Kanata (AKA Silicon Valley North) has advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals. The Senators have been a dominant team for years, but this is their first trip to the finals. Fittingly, the winning goal, scored in overtime, came from Daniel Alfredsson, who has been the franchise player almost since the team was founded in 1992. The Sens will now face the winner of the Detroit/Anaheim series, currently scheduled for game 5.
Daniel Alfredsson (11) scores the game-winning goal in overtime.
