How al-Qaeda Changed the Syrian War

Here’s an interesting piece in the New York Review of Books about how ‘nevermind al Nusra, these ISIS guys are the real ball busters. And the Americans don’t know what to do.’

The people of Syria can thank George W. Bush and Barack Obama — as well as the Israelis and Saudis of course — for their misery. Without the U.S. invasion of Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi would have just been the leader of crappy little Ansar al-Islam, terrorizing nothing and on the run. Instead an entire legion of Ayman al Zawahiri’s best troops grew up fighting that war and building the “Islamic State of Iraq” which Obama has done his best to use against Assad since 2011, in cooperation with the Saudis, Qataris and Turks — and all for the interests of Israel.

Even Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov is covering for the empire when he says that the U.S.ians are finally realizing they’ve been backing the terrorists in Syria: who the hell did they think they were backing, a bunch of fat-ass ex-pats who’ve spent the last 25 years living in Virginia on the CIA welfare roles?

Here’s Hillary warning that she was accidentally on purpose backing bin Ladenites back in the spring of 2012 (at 2:00):
