10/05/12 – Jacob Hornberger – The Scott Horton Show

Jacob Hornberger, founder and president of the Future of Freedom Foundation, discusses the FFF’s Civil Liberties College Tour from October 15-19th featuring Glenn Greenwald and Bruce Fein; why the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Amendments (under constant attack by the government) are just as important as the First and Second; and how US-imposed sanctions on Iran are in effect a war on the Iranian people.

The discussion about sanctions on Iraq killing civilians, and now sanctions on Iran intending to terrorize and kill civilians, should have mentioned the case of Dr.Shakir Hamoodi reported in the UK’s Guardian newspaper:

During the Iraq sanctions, he arranged to send small amounts of money to family members. This summer, many years after he did this, he has been prosecuted and sentenced to 3 years of federal prison. The reason, most likely, for this delayed and excessive punishment, is that the USA has many successful and wealthy Iranian migrants who will probably also send money to family members, in violation of sanctions intended to punish innocent civilians.

Hornberger, Greenwald, and Fein are good men. They’re lawyers who actually care about (gasp!) the “rule of law” and constitutional liberties. You know, the kind of stuff that O-Bomb-a, our Peace Laureate-in-Chief, the U.S. “Justice” Department, and the courts treat as roadkill.

Keep nullification and secession in mind. . . .
