The Show:Patrick Cockburn and Doug Bandow

Patrick Cockburn, Middle East correspondent of The Independent, will the featured guest today at 12:15pm.

Cockburn has been visiting Iraq since 1978. He was awarded the 2005 Martha Gellhorn prize for war reporting in recognition of his writing on Iraq. He is the author of, his memoir, The Broken Boy, and with Andrew Cockburn, Saddam Hussein: An American Obsession, The Occupation: War, Resistance and Daily Life in Iraq and Muqtada: Muqtada al-Sadr, the Shia revival and the Struggle for Iraq.

Bandow will be the featured guest on the Scott Horton Show Thursday at 1:15pm Eastern.

Bandow, a regular columnist for Antiwar.com, is the Robert A. Taft Fellow at the American Conservative Defense Alliance, a former senior fellow at the Cato Institute and the author of Foreign Follies: America’s New Global Empire. A former special assistant to President Ronald Reagan, he most recently served as senior policy advisor to Bob Barr’s presidential campaign.
