This may be old hat to some of you, but I am constantly amazed at the amount of nepotism that goes on in our government. Today I was hit by a freaky new one that I had no idea about previously.
I mean, sure, we all know that the prior head off the FCC, Michael Powell is the son of recent Secretary of State, Colin Powell. But did you know that the White House Press Secretary, Scott McClellan, is the brother of former FDA Commissioner and current Medicare Administrator, Mark McClellan, and also that they are both the sons of Carole Keeton Strayhorn, the current Texas Comptroller running for governor?.
I know this type of stuff (avoiding various obvious examples, Bushes, Kennedys, et al.) is nothing new, but damn, this one hit me pointedly today.
