I am not the only one in America who objects to every single newsperson in the land using the term “peppered” when describing how Cheney shot an old man in the face. No one else’s shootings are ever called pepperings – ever. My main man, Jon Stewart, got the same impression:
“Harry Whittington, seasoned to an inch of his life.”
Crooks and Liars video of last night’s awesome Daily Show here.
Here is a sample of Rob Corddry’s report:
“Jon, tonight the vice president is standing by his decision to shoot Harry Whittington. According to the best intelligence available, there were quail hidden in the brush. Everyone believed at the time there were quail in the brush. And while the quail turned out to be a 78-year-old man, even knowing that today, Mr. Cheney insists he still would have shot Mr. Whittington in the face. He believes the world is a better place for his spreading buckshot throughout the entire region of Mr. Whittington’s face.”
Meanwhile, BradBlog continues to ask the question:
“If Whittington had died, would the incident — or at least Cheney’s involvement in it — have been disclosed at all to the American people?”
