Progress Report

All right, yall, welcome back to the show to the inaugural Scott Horton Show progress report!

It’s been an eventful year since the show and I (amicably) parted ways with Antiwar.com, so I thought I would highlight just a few of the show’s important milestones, as well as preview some of the exciting projects to look for in the near future.

I’ve conducted roughly 500 interviews in the last year, now bringing the archive to over 3,000 in the last 10 years, not including a lost Ivan Eland interview from 2003 and a Glenn Greenwald from 2007. I guess the Freedom of Information Act request I sent to the NSA for their backups of these interviews must’ve been lost in the mail.

Shortly after leaving Antiwar.com, I moved the daily live show from the Liberty Radio Network over to No Agenda Global Radio, and set up my own stream as well. Ian Freeman and the LRN crew have been great, and as evidence of their greatness, have continued running the replays daily. The move to No Agenda has given me the chance to expose a new audience of libertarian and peace-leaning people to interviews with insightful, inspiring individuals working for peace.

The show on Pacifica KPFK 90.7 FM in L.A., still called Antiwar Radio, has now moved to join their Sunday morning public affairs line up, and remains the largest source of listeners, with 15,000-20,000 people tuning in weekly.

The future: Liberty Express Radio is growing and bringing me along for the ride. The great Charles Goyette hooked me up with Alan Butler and the Liberty Express earlier this year, and what has been the daily replay there from 3-5 eastern time has become my best listened-to show.

And now they’re adding my friend Tom Woods to the lineup from 2-3 PM. That does it. I’m making the switch:

Starting Monday, October 14, the live show is moving to 3-5 PM Eastern time on LibertyExpressRadio.com, as well as NoAgenda and my own stream.

In other news, a generous volunteer computer-genius is building a new all-in-one website for scotthorton.org to make all my interviews, videos and writing easier to find. It’s already better than ever. And the whole show archives are finally fixed, after being broken for most of this year, at scotthorton.org/category/show/.

There are several new advertisers coming on board as well. The daily download numbers keep growing, and I will continue to work on reaching an even broader audience in the coming year.

Huge thanks to the show’s loyal sponsors: The War State by Michael Swanson, Wall Street Window, The Council for the National Interest, The Future of Freedom Foundation, LibertyStickers.com, Why Peace? Edited by Marc Guttman, Dagney & Lane, CommodityDiscs.com, Rocky Mountain Miners, Tonx Coffee, and the newest: MyHeroesThink.com and The Tenth Amendment Center’s NullifyNSA! Project.

Special thanks also to the individual and subscription donors. The show costs money to produce: equipment wears out, calling Cairo, Kabul and Hong Kong is expensive, and my immeasurably incomparable intern Adam McDonald must be paid too, if only a pittance, so it can all be made available to you online. If not for all of my peace-minded supporters, the show would have ceased to exist long ago. I really appreciate it very much.

Has your subscription donation expired? Re-up today!

I’m also very grateful to KUCR in Riverside and KDRT in Davis, CA, AnomalyRadio.com, APSRadio.com, and LibertyMovementRadio.com for replaying the show in its various forms.

With your support, I’ll continue my mission of interviewing the best writers and recommending the best reading on the most important topics in the world: War, Peace and the State.
