Sources say no serious plot for NYC, just hate chatter

Like I said twice Friday, this tunnel plot threat is as fake as the rest of them. I'm sure Larisa won't mind if I steal her whole article: One former intelligence field officer says, and two other CIA officials confirm, that the alleged plot by Muslim extremists to bomb the Holland Tunnel in New York City was nothing more than chatter by unaffiliated individuals with no financing or training in an open forum already monitored extensively by the United States Government, RAW STORY has learned.

Dead or alive, more or less

Salon Bush on Osama: Sometimes, it's hard to keep up. Sept. 17, 2001: George W. Bush is asked if he wants Osama bin Laden dead. "I want justice," he says. "There's an old poster out west, as I recall, that said, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive.'" March 13, 2002: At a press conference, Bush says that he doesn't know if bin Laden is dead or alive. "You know, I just don't spend that much time on him. . . . And I wouldn't necessarily say he's at the center of any command structure. And, again, I don't know...

Prior to this convention, that power had never been used once. This time it was used to get rid of almost everything. (Some of the planks still present...

The testimony came during efforts by attorneys for the alleged terrorists to get their clients released from custody until their trial on terrorism charges. Update: Jim Bovard: "This is the same type of scam that occurred routinely during the FBI...
