NATO=Mafia ? matagordagreg on January 10, 2016 at 7:38 pm Funny no one has revealed the real reason for the attack on Kaddafi. I lived in Libya during the rein of King Idris (our puppet) who was over thrown by popular demand of the Libyan people. Kaddafi was building ( the great desert river) which would flow fresh water throughout the Sahara desert. This would ruin all of the agriculture business in Europe so France was the first to demand the US and other NATO nations to get rid of Kaddafi and his rule. It was not about gold or oil it was much more important than that. Check out the (The Great man made river) the river was in the Sahara the creator was Kaddafi !! AND THE LAST SIGHT OF kADDAFI WAS SAID TO BE A DEAD MAN IN A SEWER !! THAT WAS NOT A SEWER IT WAS THE PIPE LINE FIR THE GREAT MAN MADE RIVER. jerry bolduc on January 14, 2016 at 6:22 pm If Hillary is finally indicted and tried and incarcerated, I bet they’ll go after her tubby hubby and he’ll wind up in a courtroom to explain why all the women are accusing him of rape! That would be a start, and only a start, at restoring the Republic!! Cheney’s the guy I want to see sitting at the defense table!!! ryan on January 16, 2016 at 9:41 pm Qaddafi was alive until October of that year and he did not once mention a gold Dinar. He did however talk a lot about oil. Libya renigged on contracts worth billions of oil going to Europe and opted instead to send it to China which they could do through the Suez (not the Israeli pipeline as they had been doing) once the Egyptian revolution and new government allowed it which it did it. Look at the time line and trace the very real contracts. Which I have done. The April 2nd letter about the Dinar is speculation by a Libyan named Sid it is not an insider with information. It is about as credible as the sole FBI agent who speculated that Hitler was still alive and lives in Argentina despite his jaw bone and dental records matching his corpse which was not completely burned at wolf’s lair. The issue with the gold as stated in the same letter was that Qaddafi could finance his army with it. Brad Hoff on January 18, 2016 at 8:20 pm Ryan, I don’t doubt your findings on the contracts and I’d like to hear more if you have some links. Neither the interview nor article reduces the whole NATO intervention to one cause. Main point is that internal govt. conversations are often vastly different from propaganda fed to the public. Also, it sounds like you are confusing a “Libyan named Sid” (as you say) with Sidney Blumenthal. Please listen carefully next time. By many accounts it was former CIA man Tyler Drumheller providing this particular intel to Sidney. He provided a credible “view” but it doesn’t mean it should all be reducible to that singular “lens.” The book Arab Sping, Libyan Winter by Vijay Prashad explores both oil and gold/currency issues while connecting them all with ideology of “humanitarian intervention: etc… I’d strongly recommend.
