Fuck Hope.

“The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to the doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can ‘throw the rascals out’ at any election without leading to any profound or extreme shifts in policy. …

“Either party in office becomes in time corrupt, tired, unenterprising, and vigorless. Then it should be possible to replace it, every four years if necessary, by the other party, which will be none of these things but will still pursue, with new vigor, approximately the same basic policies.” -Carroll Quigley, Tragedy and Hope: A History of the World in Our Time, 1966, pp. 1247-1248

I am voting today for Chuck Baldwin.  My letter explaining why was published this past Friday and I spoke about him to as many people as possible.  By doing nothing, the only message we are sending is that we have given up.  Vote for Chuck Baldwin or Ralph Nader or Cynthia McKinney or even Bob Barr.  All are better than the two other knuckleheads.  As I summarized in my Letter to the Editor,  John Quincy Adams always said to vote on “Principle”.  I am listening to him and Ron Paul, who endorsed Baldwin. I think JQ Adams and Ron Paul are right.

Today I practised defensive voting and said no to all of California’s onerous propositions. There were two different proposals to build commuter trains, for chrissakes. The one in my area was to be funded through a sales tax and the other was to be funded by taxing future generations with bonds. I hope that both those measures eat it so hard that no one even bothers brining them up for a vote again. I did not vote for president or congress. Waste. Of. Time.

While driving south through Chicago early today, I saw a sign hanging over hanging over Lake Shore Drive that read, “Whoever You Vote for, the Government Wins”.  It’s nice that at least some people will see this before seeing the CNA building with “VOTE” spelled out several hundred feet high in the windows.  Maybe even some of the fools heading to see the anointed future dictator at Grant Park will see it.  The Hancock Center was lit up with red, white and blue lighting, and police were out around Grant Park for the gathering of the delusional.

At least Obama had a Ron Paul sign on his fence for a little while.

Everyone in politics knows that Ron Paul is right about everything.  Even that scummer, Rudy Guiliani admitted that Ron Paul won all the debates.

I’m just glad this sham of an election is over.  Although I will miss the McCainiac saying, “My fellow prisoners…”

But I won’t miss Palin doin’ her best Tina Fey impersonation sayin’ “That John McCain, he’s a maverick.”

yep, it’s gonna suck big time. I had an American friend who lives in Canada ask me today if I had given up on the USA or if instead I was hoping for the next New Deal? First, I thought that she really doesn’t know me, and then I thought, holy fuck, this is the way that even ex-pats are thinking now! New Fucking Deal? Have people lost their minds?

Yeah Mikel yer right, and I don’t know where the money is gonna come from for all these “deals” these idiots want.  Do you know in the last 90 days our rulers in DC have increased the federal debt by a trillion dollars?

And if ya wanna see something really creepy and disgusting take a look at this shit

Cletus, the only problem with your analysis is that Ron Paul is a Republican, not a Libertarian. Yes, the establishment Repugs would have abandoned him, but that would have just opened up the party to new blood. So, I don’t know what you’re talking about, really.

Shit, I just tuned in and got bombarded with some Rasta mucous on KAOS. We need you Scott. Tonight of all nights. Please.

you have to admit, if ron paul (who is my choice as far as president) would have won today’s election, he wouldn’t have the staff necessary to maintain the oval office.the libertarian party just doesn’t have what it takes to run the county yet.  reality looking at you right there.so, my vote goes out to obama.  call him a socialist, call him a neocon, call him whatever the fuck you want, but you have to admit, he hd the staff, he had the resources, and he had what it takes to be the prez.better luck next time ron paul.

I voted for the LP candidates (though held my nose when doing so for Bob Barr).  My wife wrote in for Ron Paul.  She’s a better person than I am, of course!
